Silica Gel - desiccant with color indicator - reusable - 125ml
The silica gel is optimal for the storage of moisture-sensitive equipment. It protects expensive equipment such as filters, cameras, telescopes, etc. from dew in a controlled manner.

Silica Gel is environmentally friendly and can be reused as often as needed. The color indicator shows exactly when the desiccant needs to be reactivated. Silica Gel is supplied in a sealable plastic container with 125ml capacity.

Why desiccant?
If you want to ensure that your expensive optics and optical accessories, camera, etc. do not suffer from moisture in sealed containers, then it is advisable to take the same precautions as are common in research laboratories with expensive measuring instruments, namely to place a small pad or sachet of desiccant in the telescope case or accessories cabinet.
This can be used to prevent annoying condensation on the inside of objectives, on mirrors, or Schmidt plates; especially if you later use a zenith prism or a plane glass (filter) in the focuser to prevent new moisture from entering the telescope when changing accessories.

The Baader desiccant works reliably and shows the condition by means of a color change: When dry, the beads are bright pink and change color with increasing saturation until they appear white and transparent in the moisture-saturated state.
You can regenerate the desiccant in the oven at about 60 to 70 degrees. Be careful not to preheat the oven because the agent will be destroyed if heated too quickly. After about 5 to 6 hours, the silica gel will be bright pink again and can be used again.

This process can be repeated as many times as you like. Nothing needs to be thrown away, as often happens with normal desiccant. It is enough to simply put the desiccant in an air-permeable cloth, close it with a knot and add it to the equipment.
