German equatorial mount EQ1 with tabletop tripod

Even this smallest GEM by Skywatcher can be equipped with a tracking motor. The EQ1 is a compact and lightweight beginnger's mount: Easy to operate and highly transportable. With the tracking motor, is can also be used for astro photography with standard photo lenses. Due to the very compact tabletop tripod, it is an ideal companion for airline travelling.

Telescopes:
The EQ-1 can be equipped with short-tube Newtonians up to 114mm or with short refractors up to 80mm.

TS tip:

When the EQ1 is equipped with the "MDEQ1" tracking motor and the "EQ1 Foto" adapter, you have a very nice platform for astro photography which is much cheaper than many other systems. With a standard lens (~ 50mm), astro photograpy with a SLR camera is possible.

When the EQ1 is used only for visual purposes, the "EMDEQ1" motor is sufficient.
