Our aim was offering a focuser for high loads and also high focusing precision like for heavy CCD cameras. Now we can present the TS monorail focuser.

The Monorail SC fits directly to Schmidt-Cassegrains
Improve your Meade or Celestron SC / Maksutov telscope with a really superb focuser. Mirror shifting will not be any problem any more. Additionally, you can focus more precise than with the standard main mirror system.

Advantages of the TS Monorail focuser:
-- Higher load rating than normal Crayford focusers. Instead of small ball bearings, a massive stainless steel rail is used.
-- Precise guiding of the drawtube, no shifting when the locking screw is tightened.
-- Smooth travel and fine focus adjustments even under high load
-- Dual speed with 1:10 Mikro transmission for precise focusing

This is how the TS Monorail focuser works:



The function of the Crayford's ball bearings is take over by a massive stainless steel rail that is fixed to the drawtube. Nothing can be bended any more. Lateral guiding is performed by ball bearings who only have to do this function - they don't have to deal with pressure loads.

Guidance and centering of the rail takes place over its full length of approx. 40mm thus also prevents from bending.

With the small knurled screw between the focus wheels (on the lower side of the focuser), the tension can be adjusted.

The locking task is also solved better. The big locking screw presses exactly in the middle between the bearing points. No bending or shifting is possible, the load is distributed evenly across the full length of the rail.

We do not recommend this focuser for fork-mounted SC telescopes. Because of the focuser's length (112mm), it would hit the base of the fork mount at higher elevations.
