TS Polar Finder for equatorial mounts
A polar scope makes it easier to align the mount with a celestial pole. Within a few minutes, you can achieve a set-up accuracy that even makes astrophotography possible. All you need is a clear view of Polaris. The polar finder is simply screwed into the rear end of the mount.

No number acrobatics or additional apps necessary
The operation is simple and intuitive. A great help for an exact alignment: the pole finder has a marking of the Big Dipper and Cassiopeia. Simply rotate the telescope right ascension axis until the marking points in the same direction as the current state of the two constellations. This works simply and spontaneously! Now you can find the true celestial pole with just a few simple steps. No longer worry about complicated data scales and numbers. One thing is for sure: every beginner can cope with it.

You also have the right stars for the southern hemisphere.

Preparation of the polar finder adjustment disk from Teleskop-Service:
The polar finder adjustment disk is like a manual APP and helps to find the position of the polar star and transfer it to the polar finder.
Click on the following link to the polar finder adjustment disk (PDF file), open it and print the file: ts-polsucher-einstellscheibe.pdf
Cut out both disks. You can glue the discs to cardboard, this will increase stability.
Pierce both discs in the center, which is marked with a + symbol. One small hole is enough.
Place the small disc over the large one and connect the discs so that you can twist the discs against each other, like a rotating star chart. A small bolt with a nut and two washers works quite well.
Done, the polar finder adjustment disk is ready for use and you always have the correct position of the polar star, independent of apps, smartphone etc.

Hint for users of the Advanced VX:

The PFGP fits into the polar axis, but you cannot attach the black cover, due to the silver date scale.

As the AVX does not have an hour dial, the date scale of the PFGP is obsolete, too, and can be removed after detaching the retaining ring between scale and eyepiece.

Now, the PFGP fits into the AVX in a way that the cover can be attached again.

"Der Polsucher passt gut in die GP-Montierung. Musste nach Abschrauben des Okulars das Plättchen mit den Markierungen um ca. 30 Grad nach links drehen, damit das Fadenkreuz im Betrieb senkrecht und die Null-Anzeige oben steht."

"I use this polfinder with the Celestron AVX mount. As instructed i removed the aluminium hour sleeve so that the cap that covers the polfinders eyepiece could be screwed back on. The polfinder itself needed calibrating to the mount so make sure you have a small Allen key to do the adjusting. One is not supplied with the polfinder. I use the iPhone app Polar align with the polfinder and they work well together although i´m still not happy with my polar alignment. Unfortunately i haven´t had sufficient clear skies corresponding with available time to sort the problem out. "

"Polsucher für EQ5. Passt auf die NEQ5, die ich besitze, lässt aber einen grossen Spalt. Keine Beleuchtung, das lässt sich aber durchs Reinleuchten von oben beheben, funktioniert einwandfrei. Klares Bild, sinnvolle Markierungen. Ausrichtung am besten nicht wie beschrieben über Programme oder Apps, die den Stundenwinkel angeben, sondern via Verlängerung Kochab-Polaris."

"In einer NEQ-5 eingesetzt hält der RA Einstellring dadurch nicht besser. Die Justage des Polsuchers ist recht schwierig, ich habe es nicht komplett hinbekommen, dass der Punkt bei Drehen der RA stehen bleibt. Fokussierung ist im eingebauten Zustand nicht möglich, das macht man aber nur ein mal im ausgebauten Zustand. Übersicht ist gut, Polaris kann schnell gefunden werden."
