TS-Optics 2" MaxField Coma Corrector for Newtonian Telescopes - suitable for Cameras up to full frame size Sensors
This Newtonian coma corrector combines the advantages of the short 2-element coma correctors with the outstanding field correction of the Wynne corrector and the GPU. The corrector is usable with any Newtonian with a 2" focuser. It provides 100% ilumination up to 35 mm diameter and 95% illumination up to 43 mm diameter, so the MaxField Coma Corrector is even suitable for cameras with full-frame size sensors.

On Astrobin you will find many exciting astrophotos with the TS-Optics Maxfield coma corrector. See for yourself how well the corrector works. Link to Astrobin - Images with the TS-Optics Maxfield Corrector

The advantages of the 2" MaxField coma corrector over the GPU:
Star sharpness on the axis and in the filed is comparable. But with 72 mm length (length of the 2" barrel), the corrector is significantly shorter than the GPU which has 100 mm length. Thus the TS-Optics MaxField corrector has two advantages:
The corrector does not protrude into the inside of the telescope even if it is completely sunk into the focuser.
The illuminated field is by more than 20% larger than the field of the GPU, due to the shorter length.

The advantages of the 2" MaxField coma corrector over the short 2-element coma correctors:
The TS MaxField consists, like the Wynne correctors, of three lenses. The stars on the axis and in the field become finer and smaller than simple Ross correctors can provide. Especially the new astro cameras with very small pixels show the difference very clearly.

Furter features of the TS MaxField Coma Corrector:
Versatile - usable for photography and for observation with an optional 2" adapter
Flexible camera adaption with the M48x0.75 thread
M48 adapters for DSLR available
55 mm working distance - suitable for DSLR cameras and also for astro cameras like the ones from ZWO
Very good multi-coated optics for highest sharpness without distracting reflections
Reduces the focal length by the factor 0.95. The focal plane is not changed.
The corrector fits to any Newtonian with 2" focuser and a working distance of at least 60 mm. These prerequisites are fulfilled by almost all Newtonian telescopes on the market.

Suggestion for an astro camera with 17.5 mm camera back focus and T2 connector:
The camera back focus or flange focal distance is the distance from the T2 (M42x0.75) thread to the sensor. Most cooled astro cameras have this distance.

Adaption with filter drawer for filter change:
Astro Camera ... 17.5 mm flange focal distance
TSM48-T2L extension to M48 ... 6 mm travel
TSFSLM48 ... Filter drawer ... 18 mm travel
BAHYP14 ... 14 mm M48 extension ... 14 mm path

The additional 0.5 mm compensates the optical path of the filter. About 1/3 of the filter diameter must always be added to the working distance of the corrector (55 mm).
Use:Correction of the Newtonian coma
Suitable for:Newtonian telescopes f/4 and slower
Working distance:55 mm from the M48x0.75 thread
2" filter thread:yes
Camera connection:M48x0.75 thread - length 4.5 mm
100% illumination:35 mm
Usable field:fully corrected up to 45 mm and also well illuminated (93%)
Stop ring:65 mm outer diameter, removable
Barrel size at the telescope side:2"
Elements:Modified 3-element Wynne system
Length of the 2" barrel:72 mm
Stop ring:65 mm outer diameter, removable
Weight:ca. 230 g

Question:
How do you have to measure the working distance?

Answer from Teleskop-Service:
The working distance is measured from the beginning of the connection thread on the housing of the corrector (see example picture):

I´m using Maxfield CC with TS Photon 6" F/4 which I find to be quite good (and most importantly inexpensive) combo.
This CC does a good job correcting the coma, almost to the edge and with minimum vignetting on APS-C sized sensor. Unfortunately it seems to be introducing some Chromatic Aberration, especially noticeable with Narrow-Band filters. This is fixable in the post.
I would not hesitate to buy this CC again if I was looking for the compromise between performance and price.

"Funktioniert mit meinen Newton sehr gut."

"Fits perfectly, easy back focus with a M48 37.5mm spacer to M42 camera side connector. If you are imaging with an f/4 newt, you need a coma corrector. This one is reasonable price and good performance."

Great corrector. A lot less vignetting compared to the GPU. It is short and it does not protrude into the light path unlike the GPU.

Works well on the TS Photon 6" F4 and APS-C sized sensor.
Minimal increase in vignetting.
Coma correction is not 100% perfect in the edges, but definitely good enough.

"Ein Muss fuer Astrofotografie am Newton Teleskop! Alles prima in Verbindung mit Canon EOS Kamera, APS-C kein Problem, Vollformat geht auch, hat aber doch schon merklich Vignettierung. Der Stoppring lässt sich verstellen, damit kann man den Backfokus noch optimieren, durch die Länge sitzt er ohne zu kippeln fest im Okularauszug. Preis Leistung fuer mich voll in Ordnung."

"This is my first coma corrector, I had read some advice about it beforehand, I´m waiting for more clear skies but I managed to use it a couple of nights and it looks great. However, I first have to solve a collimation problem with my mirors before I can tell more, but what I can say for sure is that it´s well built, you can screw 2"" filters and an M48 adaptor on then other side to be used both with a camera or an eyepiece."
