Crosshair eyepiece - 5mm focal length - 7 elements - illuminated

For precise guiding, you often need a high magnification. In spite of that, the viewing position has to remain comfortable - otherwise the observer's concentration might be compromized while guiding long-term astrophotograpy.

Good viewing position and high field sharpness by 7-element-design

Eye relief and viewing position are comparable with a 10mm eyepiece - this makes guiding possible even for eyeglass wearers.

The double crosshair section enables you position your guide star exactly on its position. When aligning a GoTo system, you can synchronize the reference stars very precisely.

Our hints for use:

For guiding, we recommend you to position the eyepiece in that way that one crosshair is parallel to the R.A. motion.
You can reach this by slewing the mount back & forth in R.A. and turn the eyepiece until the star runs inside one parallel section.
Now you can see immediately while guiding if the guide star "escapes" in R.A. or Dec. and perform the right corrections.
