The Skywatcher Refractor 80/400mm Autotrack is ideal for transportation with its compact size and low weight. Its clever Autotracking mount is very easy to use and can be operated even by children from about 8 years of age.

The alt-azimuth mount is motorized and easy to set up. Alignment can be done much more quickly than a typical goto mount - you'll have everything ready for use within two minutes! The mount will then track the objects without user intervention.

Nature Observing:

The telescope is not only an excellent astronomical instrument, but also a very good spotting scope for nature use. With its standard focuser it will accept a huge number of different accessories including eyepieces, erecting prisms, filters etc. Of course the tracking option of the mount can be switched off for terrestrial observing.



Using the SKR 804 AUTO:

This compact hand controller provides all the functions of the mount. After a quick alignment procedure the mount will automatically track the object. For positioning you can switch off the tracking and slew the telescope with the direction buttons. On the whole this controller is a lot easier to use than a full goto mount and is therefore the ideal alternative if you are looking for a compact tracking-capable mount but do not need the GoTo functions.

The refractor with 80mm aperture and 400mm focal length is ideal for rich field observing, i.e. for extended objects like star clusters or some nebulae. The milky-way is also a splendid sight in this telescope!
