Skywatcher Explorer-300PDS / 12" f/5 Parabolic Newtonian Reflector - 2" 1:10 dual speed Crayford focuser
... perfect telescope for astro photograpy with enough back focus

Skywatcher Black Line 254mm Newton auf EQ6Goto
The new Skywatcher Explorer 300PDS offers to essential advantages for astro photography: A 2" Crayford focuser with 1:10 dual speed transmission and enough back focus for nearly every camera on the market. Of course the system is diffraction-limited and has a parabolic main mirror.

The Explorer-300PDS advantages:

-- diffraction-limited and parabolized optical system for sharp and contrasty imaging / observation
-- 2" Crayford focuser with 1:10 dual speed transmission - ideal for astro photograpy
-- solid metal tube
-- enough back focus for all common astro cameras

Focuser detail:

Skywatcher Dual Speed Crayford Auszug

The new 2" focuser offers precise focusing ability for tack-sharp astro photos. The mechanical stiffness is very good. Even cameras with 2kgs of weight are held solidly. A 1.25" reducer is included.

Technical details:
-- Aperture: 303mm
-- Focal length: 1500mm
-- Photographic speed: f/4.7
-- Main mirror: parabolic, diffraction limited
-- Diameter of the secondary: 70mm short axis
-- Secondary spider vanes: 0.5mm ultra thin vanes for less diffraction spikes
-- OTA length: 140cm
-- OTA weight: 26 kgs

Scope of delivery:
-- OTA with clampshells and 9x50 viewfinder
-- Prism rail
-- 28mm LET eyepiece

Better field correction with the Skywatcher Coma Corrector:

Skywatcher Newton Koma Korrektor
Due to physical reasons, a fast newtonian system produces coma outside the optical axis. The Skywatcher Coma Corrector compensates for this effect and leads to pinpoint stars across the field of view. It works for both observation and astro photography.
