Description

CANON EOS Clip Filters - "Clip-In-Style" Filters for Canon EOS Camera Bodies !

You have a Canon EOS digital SLR camera (300D, 350D, 400D, 20D .... et al.) and also use it for astro-imaging?

Then you probably know the usual problems:

-- good quality screw-in type filters are quite expensive

-- often there is no sufficient back-focus to install filters at all, e.g. when using an Off Axis Guider.

-- it is difficult to keep the proper distance between a coma corrector and the camera's sensor when using a conventional filter adaptation.

This problem concerns everybody, not only amateur astronomers:

-- when changing the lens or during astro-imaging the camera's sensor is unprotected! Dust can settle on the sensor and is then difficult and dangerous to remove.

The EOS Insert Filters are the Ideal Solution !!!

The Insert is laser-cut with the most modern computer controlled machines and can be installed directly in the camera body without tools and within just a few seconds. The insert sits behind the camera bayonet. You do not need to remove the filter when switching lenses. All functions of the camera like auto-focus etc. remain operational. All Canon lenses (except EF-S lenses) can still be used.

The Insert Filters work with the following Canon EOS camera models:

EOS 300D, 350D, 400D, 20D, 30D, ... and similar (all cameras with the half-size sensor, but not the Canon 10D). Full-size cameras like the 5D are unfortunately not compatible.

Filter Quality:

All filters (and of course also the clear glass insert) are of course multicoated and precisely parallel. The result: High contrast images and no ghost images.

We offer the following Astronomik Insert Filters for Canon EOS cameras:

The below table contains all available EOS Clip Filter models. The particular model offered in this product presentation is highlighted in the table. Under "recommended accessories" you can find a link to the other available EOS Clip filters as well as recommended cleaning tools.

How to Insert the Filters into the Canon EOS Camera:

Attaching the filters is very easy. The Canon EOS camera has a circular recess behind the bayonet and before the actual recess where the mirror and the sensor are located. The EOS Clip filters fit right into this recess - only push them in in the right orientation and apply a little pressure with your finger. The filter can be removed without tools, although a screwdriver can help if used with much care!

Important information for owners of telescopes or tele objectives faster than f/4:
Astronomik filter work very homogen and are nearly free of reflections. But combined with fast optical systems, they change their characteristics and the transmission curves are not optimal any more. This results in abbreviations in transmission from the centre to the edge of field. This happens e.g. with fast tele objectives, Celestron Hyper Star, ASA optics...
If you want to have an optimized filter for such a system, please give us the f/ number and we can deliver by special order an optimized filter for your system. This additional service is free of charge.
