The TS PARAGON ED 40 is the ultimate rich field eyepiece for telescopes with a focal ratio of f/6 or longer. It is ideal for refractors, Schmidt-Cassegrains and Maksutov-Cassegrains as well as for long focal length Newtonians and Dobsonians.

Image sharpness is excellent due to the revolutionary new optical layout. The coating is one of the best we have ever seen and results in bright and clear images. According to the factory the eyepiece is identical to the TMB Paragon 35 eyepiece.

The TS Paragon has a 69° apparent field of view with excellent field sharpness and without distracting internal reflections. The eyepiece is perfect for demanding deep sky observing and for finding objects.

-- Long Eye Relief: 17.5mm - There is no need to squeeze your eyepiece into a tiny lens. You can stay at a comfortable distance and still see the entire field of view. With eyeguard folded back you can see the full field with eyeglasses.

-- Bright high contrast image. Multicoating. Blackened Interior - An excellent broadband multicoating on each glass-to-air surface and blackened lens edges provide for a bright, high contrast view without disturbing internal reflection.

-- No false colour fringing - The ED glass element minimizes false colour fringing icaused by the eyepiece. Of course false colour created by the telescope will still be present.

Flat Field

This eyepiece offers a virtually completely flat image field without distortion. Many more simple wide angle eyepiece and even most of the extremely expensive ultra-wide angle eyepieces reach their fields of view only through significant distortion towards the edge. If you move moon towards the edge of the field such eyepieces will distort moon to egg-shape, whereas it remains perfectly round in the Paragon. An actual measurement of the field of view confirmed the factory's claims: 68° were measured, which is only 1° away from the official figure.

Twist-up eyeguard:

The rubber eyeguard of the Paragon 2" eyepieces can be extended by turning it. This allows you to individually adjust the eyepiece for best observing comfort, regardless of whether you observe with or without eyeglasses.
