Starway Side-By-Side Mounting Plate for two telescopes on one mount - with Micrometer Guide Scope Holder

The Duomount XL is an improved variant of the popular TS Duomount with the addition of a micrometer guide scope holder.

It allows you to attach two instruments side-by-side on one mount and to precisely move one of the telescopes relative to the other using a sophisticated micrometer device. This is particularly interesting for astro-imaging and eliminates the need for such bulky or difficult to use parts as guide scope rings or excenters.

The TS Duomount XL has the same basic design as the normal TS Duomount. The basic operation is the same and the Duomount XL has the same advantages. For further information on the basic Duomount please find the link under "recommended accessories".

The important difference: The integrated micrometer guide scope holder

The Duomount XL is an improved variant of the normal Duomount. One of the two telescopes can be moved relative to the other by virtue of an integrated micrometer guide scope holder. This device is easy to use and allows you to center a guide star very easily. The telescope or camera can be mounted on top of the micrometer device using a standard Vixen-style dovetail plate (not included).

The micrometer guide scope holder eliminates the need to use bulky or difficult to use accessories such as guide scoep rings or an excenter. The guide star will always be on the optical axis of the telescope, eliminating the effect of a deterioration of the image quality towards the edge.

The micrometer device is strong enough to carry instruments up to about 7kgs weight, even for long exposure times.
