Orion Kompakt Dobson 150/750mm - Parabol Optik

The Orion StarBlast 6 is an interesting alternative to the simple Newtonians on their flimsy equatorial mounts. The instrument is instantly ready to use and it allows joyful observing with no hazzle.

The StarBlast 6 of Orion offers 73% more light than a typical 114mm Newtonian albeit it consumes less space as most of the 114mm class Newtonians. You can observe dimmer objects and you have higher resolving power for moon and planets at the same time. The instrument comes ready to use, within a few minutes the observation can start.

The well-made parabolic optics is diffraction limited. You can admire hints of nebulosity in front of pinpoint stars as well as clearly defined, high contrast images of the moon and planets. The rigid metal focuser allows precise focusing, and it is even prepared for photography.

Orion Kompakt Dobson 150/750mm - Parabol Optik - Rocker Box

The small Dobsonian is no dead end ... if you decide one day you want to start with astrophotography, you can connect the Newtonian in its rings to an equatorial mount. Then your compact Dobsonian transforms into an equatorially mounted Newtonian through which you can take photographs. Within a few minutes you can put it back to use it in Dobsonian mode, so you have two telescopes at once.

Particular fine slewing ... the rocker box has a particular smooth Teflon teflon pad at its base. The elevation axis is even adjustable and it works smoothly as well. So you can center your object even at high magnification precisely. Even beginners can find and observe nebulae and galaxies easily in their first night already.
