few things are as stunningly beautiful as the night sky from a dark observing location! This is often the main motivation for beginning amateur astronomers to purchase their first telescope. If the telescope has been chosen correctly for your particular needs it will provide many years of enjoyment!

Tips from TS - the most important considerations when choosing a telescope:

-- What are the objects I wish to see? Or do I maybe not yet have any preferences?
-- How dark is my observing location? - Close to a large city or very remote and dark?
-- Will I observe from the balkony or with a clear, unobstructed view of the entire night-sky?
-- Is terrestrial observing (nature observing, birdwatching, ...) important for me?
-- Will the telescope need to be transportant frequently, and how is it going to be transported? Will I transport it in a car, with a bike, ...?
-- Is astro-imaging important for me? Do I plan to take images of night sky objects on the short or medium term? (Answer this question carefully! A "yes" unfortunately means a big expense.)
-- How much do I wish to invest into the telescope and its accessories?
