Pentax XW eyepieces were designed from the beginning for outstanding performance in all areas. The image sharpness is truly exceptional, no matter whether the eyepiece is used on an f/4 Newtonian, an f/7 APO refractor or an f/15 Maksutov.

Particular care was taken to design the eyepieces for superb viewing comfort. The eyepieces are perfectly comfortable to use both with or without eyeglasses.

The state of the art SMC coating results in a very bright image (98% transmission). Image sharpness remains perfectly sharp throughout the large field of view.

From the first second the eyepieces radiate a feeling of quality throughout. As such they also were made for a long lifespan. They are weatherproof according to the JIS class 4. This means, among other things, that the coating and the mechanical body are very robust.

All in all we consider Pentax XW eyepieces one of the finest choices for discriminating amateur astronomers who are looking for the best in quality and performance.

Useful Accessories for Photography:

A little known fact about the Pentax XW eyepieces is that they are also very well suited for digiscoping (= photography with a compact digital camera). If you unscrew the top of the eyeguard the Pentax eyepieces will have a thread for the adaptation of various cameras with a firm, self-centering connection.
