GP-DX – this product name stands for nearly two decades for the optimal combination of non-compromised stability, best precision and transportability. Vixen took advantage of this experience and has set a new standard with the GPD2.

The results of many successful astro photographers speak for themselves. This is no wonder: excellent craftmanship and high-precision worm gears and bearings lead to a low, good controllable periodic error and vibration damping also. Even long-term imaging with 8" reflectors is no problem.

Its illuminated polar viewfinder (standard equipment) supports quick and exact polar alingment.

Our opinion of the GPD2:

The GPD2 is the mount with the best payload / weight relation. It is optimal for amateur astronomers who want to keep even heavier equipment transportable incl. the use for astro imaging.

Payload capacity:

We recommend the GP-D2 for refractors up to 6", SC systems up to 9¼" and Newtionians up to 8" (or 10" for Orion UK lightweight models). The load limit is approx. 14 kgs for visual and 10 kgs for photographical use.
