Witty - Adjustable Piggy-Back Camera / Finder Holder - # 2450335

Witty 1 by Baader - a hot product! It can be used for mounting spotting scopes, tele lenses, cameras, ... - in short: just about any compact item with camera tripod thread - on top of a telescope.

Adaptation to the Telescope

The Witty fits into standard finder bases such as they are used by Vixen, Skywatcher, Celestron, ... This image shows a Witty mounted in such a way.

If your telescope does not have such a finder base, or if you wish to leave the finder mounted and use the Witty at the same time, you can find the fitting finder quick release bases under "recommended accessories".

Mounting a Camera, Spotting scope, Finder, ...

The Witty has a flat top with a 1/4" screw. You can attach any item up to about 1.5kgs that will also fit on a camera tripod.

Micro Adjustment

The Witty not only holds an instrument in place, it also offers a fine adjustment for the orientation of the instrument.

Recommended Accessory:

-- Quick Release Base ... In case your telescope does not already have a suitable finder base you can get the Baader base separately. It can be used to mount the Witty on a Schmidt-Cassegrain or most other telescopes. You can find it under "recommended accessories" above.
