Skywatcher EQ-6 SynTrek Massive equatorial mount EQ-6 SynTrek for heavy instruments

The EQ-6 SynTrek is a complete package for amateur astronomical purposes with heavier instruments. This mount comes completely with:

-- rigid steel-tube field tripod
-- illuminated polar viewfinder
-- dual motor control

This mount is not only suitable for visual observation but also the entrance into astro photography.

Payload capabilities:

The EQ-6 can carry instruments up to ca. 20 kg. With longer telescopes or for astro photography, we recommend to stay below this value.

The SynTrek version already has the high-quality fast stepper motors of the EQ-6 SkyScan. The maximum slew speed is 800x sidereal speed (3.4°/s).

Beyond the standard features, the SynTrek handbox offers:

-- Different guiding speeds: sidereal / solar / lunar.
-- ST-4 compatible autoguiding interface for astro photography

Motor specifications:

-- Stepper motors with 0.144" resolution
-- Correction speeds for astro photography: 0.25x, 0.5x and 0.75x
-- Slew speeds: 4x, 8x, 32x, 64x and 800x

In spite of the complete standard equipment, this is the basic version of the EQ-6. If you e.g. want to upgrade the EQ-6 to the GoTo version later, this is no problem with the GoTo upgrade kit.
