TS APO 115mm

This Triplet APO offers such a high image quality as has previously been the domain of much more expensive APOs. False colour has been reduced so much that it no longer plays any practical role. Correction is much better than in standard doublet ED refractors.

The objective is air-spaced, not cemented. This avoids thermic problems often occuring in cemented triplet lenses. We tested this telescope with the optional TS field flattener and compared it with a similar refractor with 110mm aperture. This direct comparison showed much better photographical results on the 115mm APO. The telescope is recommended without reservations up to about 45mm sensor diagonal.

APO 115 for Astro Imaging

With the optional 3" field flattener this APO offers perfect image sharpness to the very edge of the photographical field.

The TS field flattener, aside from offering a superb image quality, has another great advantage: The back focus is much larger than the 55mm offered by most other flatteners. This allows you to place additional accessories between the flattener and the camera, for example Off Axis Guiders, filter wheels...

With that great advantage the 115mm APO becomes a top instrument for demanding astro imaging.

Triplet APO ObjectiveAPO Objective:

Multi-coated triplet APO objective with 115mm aperture and 800mm focal length.

The image is free from distracting false colour. Under appropriate seeing conditions magnifications up to 300x are possible.
3 inch Crayford focuser3" Crayford Focuser:

For astro imaging a 2" focuser can cause vignetting towards the edges of the photographical field. To avoid this problem we recommend the use of 3" focusers for photography.

On this APO we use a 3" Crayford focuser of high quality. It is strong enough to carry even heavy photographical loads, and offers a very smooth focusing motion.

A 2" adaptation and a separate 2"-1.25" adaptor are included as standard. When the 2" adaptation is removed it is possible to directly install the 2.5" TS Optics field flattener.
Red dot finder
Quality Red Dot Finder

The APO comes supplied with a red dot finder of good quality. It is not a cheap plastic item, but is solidly built of metal.

The reticle can be adjusted in brightness. At the minimum brightness the reticle does not blind your eyes even on a very dark observing site.

For transporation the Red dot finder can be easily removed from the telescope using its quick release coupling.
