The Alter M 703 is a powerful and versatile telescope with excellent performance especially on Moon and Planets. It can be compared with a very good 5" APO but offers even more brightness in the Deep-Sky realm.

The high contrast is also in Deep-Sky an advantage because faint nebula structures can be detected better in front of a cole black background.

With the optional focal reducer (0.55x), the Maksutov becomes a fast astro camera for Deep Sky imaging. The focal ratio is f/5.5 then and the field grows in the same way.
