Celestron CGEM - computer controlled German equatorial mount - up to 20 kg payload ... massive GoTo mount for telescopes with max. 11" aperture - suitable for astro photography

The Celestron CGEM offers advanced technology combined with an elegant design. It closes the gap between the reknown Advanced GoTo mount (CAM) and the bigger CGE. The CGEM is capable of carrying loads up to ca. 20 kg, according to application and arm of lever.
Integrated tracking with automatic object positioning: The CGEM comes with a complete GoTo controller. It has an internal database with ca. 40'000 objects and makes precise tracking possible.
Very massive polar wedge: Big knurled knobs in azimuth and latitude guarantee comfortable aligning with the celestial pole, even under full load. The sturdy design of the polar wedge additionally raises the mount's overall stability.
Innovativ polar alignmend for astro photography: The CGEM has a new designed and very effective polar alignment routine (All star - patent pending). For precise alignment, you just slew to a star after the computer's calibration. Then, the software calculates the difference between the mount's and the real celestial pole and reports the necessary corrections. An additional polar finder scope it is not necessary (but of course it can be installed as an accessory).
Permanent periodic error correction: Essential for astrofotography - the permanent correction of the worm gear's periodic error. The programmed corrections are (in opposite to many competitors) permanently stored and can be recalled after powering on again. The tracking becomes even more precise what makes this mount very suitable for astro photography.
The mount can track beyond the meridian: Very useful when one performs long-term astro photography and the object meanwhile crosses the meridian. Capturing can be continued. The CGEM's special design allows tracking more than 10° beyond the meridian without pier flip.
Stable 3" prism clamp: The CGEM uses the same 3" prism rail system as the CGE or Losmandy allowing the use of rock-solid telescope junctions. The result: less vibration and more stiffness.
Solid steel field tripod: The height-adjustable field tripod can be extended up to 140 cm height with no loss of stability. It allows positioning the mount always in the right height for your individual instrument.
The CGEM is suitable for any instrument types. Celestron offers this mount alone and in combination with three different Schmidt-Cassegrains.
