Description
Celestron Newtonian: 200mm aperture, 1000mm focal length - on NEQ5 mount
... an economical start into a better instrument class with a stable equatorial mount
Celestron Newton 200/1000mm auf parallaktischer Montierung ADM - advances Mount von Celestron (Picture similar. Delivery with white NEQ5 mount)
The optical tube:

This Newtonian is the entrance to a higher class of instruments. The telescope is manufactured by the high Celestron standards. The clear, diffraction limited optics delivers high definition on axis and in the field.

The thin secondary mirror vanes suppress diffraction effects (spikes), and even at highest magnifications of about 300x the image is still clear and sharp. Moon and planets show details that are rather limited by the Earth atmosphere than by the optics.

200mm aperture deliver an image brightness that shows thousands of deep sky objects visually. A whole life would not be long enough to study all the objects visible by this instrument.

Photography with the Celestron Newtonian

The solid 2" focuser allows not only the use of 2" wide field eyepieces, but also the connection of cameras. So you can do fine astrophotography using this Newtonian.

The Advanced Mount of Celestron - NEQ5:

The NEQ5 carries the Newtonian well, as it can be loaded with instruments up to 10kg. There is some reserve for photography or heavy visual accessories.

The NEQ5 includes a particular rigid stainless steel tripod, which is extendable to a height of up to 140cm. Both axes can be slewed manually.

The NEQ5 can be used with different controllers, up to a complete GoTo setup. A polar axis finder scope is available.

Technical Data:

- Aperture 200mm , focal length 1000mm , focal ratio f/5
- Parabolic primary for optimum image sharpness
- Stellar magnitude limit 14,2 mag
- Resolution 0,6"
- Focuser 2" - metal - with clamp screw and 1.25" adapter including T2 camera thread
- Central mark on the primary mirror to simplify alignment
- Fully adjustable primary and secondary

- The vane arms of the secondary mirror are only 0,5mm thick to suppress diffraction spikes
- Total weight including mount, counterweights and tripod ... 35kg
- Weight of optical tube ... 8,8kg

Accesories included:

-- Parabolic Newtonian 200/1000mm
-- 8x50 finder with dovetail quick release
-- 20mm Plössl - 1,25" eyepiece
-- equatorial mount NEQ5 - with stainless steel tripod

Optional accesories ....................................... "recommended accesories"

-- the large TS eyepiece kit - the "all in one solution"
-- a perfect wide field eyepiece - the TS SP 32
-- eyepieces for higher/maximum magnification
-- cleaning utensils
-- books, lights
-- camera adapters
-- adapter for coma corrector; coma corrector for better field definition

M27 - Dumbell Nebel - durch den Celestron Newton 200/1000mm
Dr. Hölzl made this shot of the Dumbbell nebula M-27 on the 19th Sep. 2007 using the Celestron Newtonian 200/1000.
The camera was an unmodified EOS 350 - the Baader coma corrector improved the field sharpness. Three frames of 320 seconds
each at 800 ISO have been stacked in FITSWORK and optimized in Photoshop. Congratulations !
