Maksutovs - Telescopes for Observation & Planetary Photography
Maksutov Cassegrains are compact telescopes with longer focal length with good focusing performance.
Maksutov telescopes are another variant of Cassegrain optics. A front lens (Menskus lens) complements the spherical primary mirror and the secondary mirror. The result is a very sharp telescope with a short design and a relatively flat field. Maksutovs, because of their long focal length, are mainly used for observing and photographing the moon and planets.
